The National Audit of Dementia (care in general hospitals) has published its fourth national report based on data received from 195 acute general hospitals in England and Wales. NAD looks at the quality of care received by people with dementia in general hospitals. The audit was carried out by the College Centre for Quality Improvement (CCQI) and commissioned by the Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership on behalf of NHS England and the Welsh Government.
The national and all local reports can be found on the Royal College of Psychiatrists website, together with hospital scores for assessment, information and communication rated by carers and staff, governance, nutrition provision, discharge planning, and the overall carer rating of care. Hospital audit leads are invited to Quality Improvement workshops in the autumn to begin working on action plans and you can find further information here.
