The 10th National Dementia Care Awards took place on Thursday 7th November. The NDAA would particularly like to make special mention to the category of Lifetime Achievement in Dementia Care, with all nominees having a connection to the NDAA sharing their time and expertise over the years.
Frank Arrojo – tide
Has been an NDAA affiliate for many years. He sits on the NDAA Hosptial Taskforce and helped produced a poster that can be displayed in hospitals that summarises the elements of the charter that people living with dementia and carers can see in clear view when they visit.
Professor Dawn Brooker, University of Worcester – WINNER
Currently sits on the NDAA Steering Group and has helped guide the work of the NDAA over the years through her research knowledge. She has chaired numerous events for the NDAA and through her University has helped the NDAA measure its impact to inform future work.
Dawne Garrett, Royal College of Nursing
Has assisted the NDAA with its Dementia Friendly Hospital Charter and currently sits on the NDAA Hospital Taskforce. Royal College of Nursing are also hosting the next NDAA Annual Conference.
Jackie Pool, Sunrise Senior Living
A former NDAA member under Jackie Pool Associates, Jackie has shared her knowledge and spoken at previous NDAA events.
