17th – 18th March 2021
Alzheimer’s Society is pleased to announce that they have rescheduled their 2020 conference to 17-18 March 2021, which will be an online event. Unfortunately, they have been unable to plan a face to face conference due to the pandemic, but wanted to still bring the conference they planned to you in some form.
They have found a virtual system to host the conference and will supply IT support before and during the conference for anyone that needs it. For anyone unable to attend a virtual conference, they aim to provide conference recordings following the event in the form of a DVD.
The theme of conference is Impact and Reach – Influencing Change, for Wales to become a dementia friendly nation, they need to reach everyone affected by dementia whoever they are and wherever they live. Please join them to learn from experience, share good practice, and find solutions to some of the questions we face.
Dementia Friendly Diversity Awards 2021 (Wales)
As part of the conference we will be awarding a Diversity award in collaboration with Welsh Government.
Alzheimer’s Society Cymru is seeking nominations for two Dementia Friendly Diversity Awards. The Awards will recognise 1) an individual and 2) a community/group or organisation that has provided an exemplary dementia friendly service/action to an under-represented group/diverse community during the Covid-19 Pandemic.
In particular they’ll be looking at how direct connections with the community have been sought and how any insights gained have been used to adapt their approach for the benefit of that community.
