Visit www.dementiavoices.org.uk for information about DEEP and a range of guidance notes about involving people with dementia.
DEEP stands for the Dementia Engagement and Empowerment Project. It is a growing user movement of people with dementia across the UK. It connects involvement/influencing groups of people with dementia – groups where people with dementia are working together to raise awareness about dementia, to provide view points to policy makers and decision makers, to influence local dementia practice and strategy, and to challenge the existing narrative about what it is like to live with dementia. There are currently 50 groups that are part of the network as well as connected individuals with dementia. DEEP is funded by Joseph Rowntree Foundation and Comic Relief, and supported by Innovations in Dementia and the Mental Health Foundation.
