The NDAA are delighted to announce that Housing 21 are once again sponsoring the Annual Conference held in February 2020.
Housing 21 is a leading not-for-profit provider of Retirement Housing and Extra Care for older people of modest means.
They operate in nearly 200 local authority areas, managing around 20,000 Retirement and Extra Care Living properties and providing over 42,000 hours of social care each week.
In November 2017, they launched themselves as a dementia-friendly organisation. They have a steering group with representatives from across the organisation to ensure that they continue to challenge themselves to embed dementia-friendly design and services throughout the organisation.
Housing 21 have worked with Alzheimer’s Society to co-author the dementia-friendly housing charter, which was a key deliverable of the Prime Ministers Challenge on Dementia 2020. They also chair the Housing and Dementia Working Group which brings together a range of organisations and networks to influence policy around dementia.
Most recently they were winners of the Third Sector Award by a panel of judges which included the CEO of Investors in People and the Director of People at CIPD. The Investors in People Awards celebrate the best in people management practice amongst Investors in People accredited businesses.
They also achieved its fifth ‘Outstanding’ from the Care Quality Commission (CQC). Housing 21 is committed to providing the highest quality of care for its residents and, as a result of an ongoing commitment to improving its services, has already exceeded one of its strategic goals of having at least 5% of Extra Care services rated ‘Outstanding’ by March 2021.
